Jump into Volunteering!
Savage Arts Council is a volunteer-led 501(c)(3) non-profit that presents a number of art programs in Savage and throughout Scott County, MN. We focus our energies on programs, events and activities for greater Minneapolis/St. Paul art patrons and area artists. We develop, manage and support a variety of art programs each year and present two major art events: Savage Juried Show & Competition and Scott County Art Crawl.
We have needs for several types of volunteers. If you are interested in any of these volunteer opportunities, please contact us at info@SavageArtsCouncil.org. We’d love to have you on board! Some examples are:
Board of Directors
Both artists and art appreciators are represented on our board, and members are welcome to attend board meetings. The Savage Arts Council Board of Directors provides direction and support for the Savage Arts Council programs and events and the corresponding committees. Anyone interested in learning more about the Savage Arts Council, our board of directors or other volunteer opportunities is encouraged to attend our monthly meetings from 6pm – 8pm, the 2nd Monday of each month at the Savage Arts and Cultural Center, located through the east entrance of the Savage Public Library, 6000 McColl Drive, Savage MN 55378.
Operational Volunteers (Leadership Roles)
The Savage Arts Council is a volunteer-led organization and we rely on volunteers with specific skills sets to help keep our non-profit organization running effectively. Typically operational volunteers focus on a specific functional area for either the entire organization or for specific events. Here are some of our current needs:
- Artist Relations Director: assist with our calls to artists via phone and online entry support.
- Volunteer Coordinator: identify volunteer needs with committee leads andcoordinate volunteer call campaigns.
Volunteers make our art events come to life! There are a variety of volunteers at our events; everything from assisting artists, working our information booths, selling beverages, taking photos, assisting guests, putting up signs, and much more.
Each of our events has a planning committee, and we encourage you to use your skills on one or more of the following committees: Savage Juried Art Competition and Show, Dan Patch Days booth, Scott County Art Crawl, and our Youth Art Show. Here are some of our current volunteer opportunities.
